Nazca Lines Extension
Fly over Peru's coastal desert to view the mysterious line designs etched on the desert floor. No one knows precisely why the inhabitants of these coastal valleys etched thousands of lines plus anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures in the desert some 2,000 years ago. The Nazca Lines are among the most intriguing of the many remnants of civilizations that prospered along the Pacific coast for thousands of years before the arrival of Europeans. You'll find the coast a fascinating contrast to the highlands and the rain forest.

The Salcantay Trek
In this classic Andean trek, you experience some of the world's most breathtaking mountain scenery along with some of its finest archeological sites in the Vilcabamba Cordillera, an exhilarating range of steep valleys, lacy waterfalls, and towering granite snowpeaks. 500 years ago, the Incas united each valley and pass with a network of exquisitely crafted stone highways. The Quechua-speaking peasants in these high green valleys still nurture their herds, use traditional tools, and make coca leaf offerings to the powerful Apu (mountain spirit) residing in the sacred peak of Nevado Salcantay. From Mollepata you hike to spectacular camps, cross amazing passes, then descend a long valley to join the famous Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Follow ancient granite paving stones on a spectacular route high above the Urubamba River, until you emerge at Machu Picchu, with a full day to explore every corner of this wonderful site.
