Debbie Rosen

I started adventuring in 1978 when I joined a three-month overland expedition from London to Kathmandu. The passion started then and there as did a career change -- to the adventure travel business. When "adventure travel" was in its formative years, I began working at the original Overseas Adventure Travel company, in Cambridge, MA, and stayed for fifteen years. I've sent countless adventurers on their way to all kinds of exotic trips then and now, and I have traveled to over 40 countries. Through "OAT" I met Peter Robertson who was our tour operator for Peru. After traveling to Peru, Peter and I married.

Now our daughter is in college, and shares our adventurous spirit. She has traveled to Peru, Ecuador, the Galapagos, the Amazon, as well as Tanzania, Morocco, India, and more! She is fluent in Spanish, and will be spending a college semester abroad in Chile. Travel is now a part of her being, having had broad, far-reaching experiences that are physical and cultural, giving her profund, immeasurable vision and understanding of our world and all its diversity.

The last ten years I joined Peter at Andean Treks, focusing on Ecuador and the Galapagos, a favorite destination that I've visited numerous times. My work here is multi-faceted and always interesting. I create exciting custom itineraries and believe strongly in providing personalized service to my clients. I also work in marketing and on our website. I can't imagine doing anything else. Everyday I learn something new, speak with interesting people, and design exotic journeys of a lifetime for all kinds of people. I love finding the right trip for the client -- making the pieces fit.

From the days of the 4-foot telex machine and manual typewriters, I've seen the world and technology change in unbelieveable ways. There were then and always will be bumps in the road and problems coming at us sideways, but that's what keeps us young and adventuring! I and the rest of us at Andean Treks are proud of our excellent programs, our depth of knowledge and caring, and the high quality of service we offer ... which we offer to you ...  and hope that you discover for yourself the beauty, wonder and diversity of South America.
